1st Haircut

Ha ha, you thought it was Spencer. Actually, he had his first hair cut before Sadie. Yes, for 3 1/2 years I couldn't bring myself to cut those curls. They were her sweet baby hair and I knew once they were gone, they'd be gone for good. But it was way past time and I had visions of her with a short bob cut (thanks to her favorite friend Miss H. for the inspiration). This haircut did not disappoint - I'm in love with it. Sadie, not so much. For the first week she kept coming up to me saying "I want my old hair back". Oh booo hooo what I mean mom I am! Luckily, her hair grows fast. We even had enough to donate to locks of love. The sad part: she looks so grown up. Sniff sniff.

Getting used to playing in the rain ....

Yes, it's true. We're moving. Soon.
Brent had an opportunity to take a new position with his same company out in Seattle. Since I've been missing my family big time, I was thrilled.
We've been crazy busy these last couple months with the house: cleaning, staging, packing, showing, selling and now more packing. Brent's been gone since the middle of October (except for a visit over Halloween) and we are all so excited to be back together again. I am crazy excited, but still fighting tears about leaving our home of five years and all the friends and memories we have here. Change like this is always hard but exciting. I feel very distinctly like one chapter of our lives is closing and we are beginning a new chapter.
We feel very blessed.

Kate's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Kate was so excited for school. Since she has a early fall birthday, she's been ready for a long time, but I was plenty happy to have her to myself for a while longer. But by the end of summer, Kate was so bored and it was definitely time for school. I have been trying really hard to get over my anxieties about my baby girl being out the in the scary real world. But she's doing great.

Kate loves her teacher - she is a lot of fun.
